Rest In Peace Oma Anita
Unfortunately, On May 28th, Todd's Oma (German for Grandma) passed away. The days leading up to her death was a roller coaster ride of emotions for Todd. She went into the hospital for a heart attack and was doing horrible, then she was in the clear and talking. Then the following day, she was incoherent. Then she was better. We all were thinking she was fine and gonna pull through, but the then the next call Todd got was at at 5:30 in the morning on May 28th, we received the news that she had passed away. Todd was very upset, but in great Todd form, he switched into "work mode." Instead of focusing on how he feels, something in his mind triggers into what he HAS to do and what needs to get done and what are the next steps that need to be taken.
He had me search for flights for the next day while he went to work to take care of evaluations that were due the following week. He made plans to be out of the office for the next few days and I packed, we make a great team that way. The tickets we got were not so bad considering it was for the next day and it was Memorial Day Weekend. Our Saturday went by in a flash and on Sunday, we were up at 4am getting ready to fly out to Alabama.
