Easter 2011

We had an awesome, family filled Easter. We started our morning with the word. We went to the early service at Abundant Living. After church, all the family met at my mom's house for food and family time. Our favorite thing ever. Everyone was looking great in our Easter Bests. The DiMillo's were coordinated in lavender. I thought it was a nice touch for us all to wear like colors.

The weather was particularly cold and rainy. That didn't put a damper on our Easter festivities. We just decided to do our Easter Egg Hunt inside and hide everything in the living room. The kids really didn't seem to mind that at all. Gigi hid the eggs in easy places for Taelyn and Leah and in some harder places for Allan and Maya.

The kids had a great time despite the fact we were in the house. These eggs didn't have candy in them since these kids eat way too much candy... these eggs had MONEY. I don't think the kids were even interested in the money, they were just excited to look for and find the eggs. It was great fun. Maya found the most eggs, then Allan, then Leah and then Taelyn. Maya was an egg finding machine. She was quick and had such a great eye. Allan was just a step behind Maya every time. Leah went by herself and found the obvious eggs that Maya and Allan passed up. Taelyn was not really into it. She found 1 egg and just walked around with that 1 egg. I found another egg for her and she had an egg in each hand, so she was just as happy as can be. The egg hunt was a success!

Here are a few pics of the men:

We all just hung out and talked and ate. I love my family and cherish all of our moments. Oh, I also let the cat out of the bag that we are expanding our family. Everyone was so happy and excited for us, to my relief. This was right before we had to leave. As we took a picture of all the women, Todd said to say "Cheese" and as everyone said "Cheese" I blurted out "I'm Pregnant!!!"

Everyone smiled until the flash went off and then I got a lot of "Really's" and "You're kidding" "Congrats" "I'm so happy" "Taelyn's gonna be a big sister" "How far along are you?" "Why did you wait so long to tell us???" They were shocked and to be completely honest, I was shocked as well. I am 14 weeks. We just wanted to wait until we were in the clear before we told anyone. It makes me happy that everyone was happy for us.

We left my mom's to go to Todd's coworker's 40th Surprise Birthday Party. There were lots of things to do at Erwin's. Todd tried riding a bike with her. She seemed to love it!

We had an AMAZING Easter.

Operation: Garage Clean Up

When Todd and I got together, he owned a house AND I owned a house. When we bought our house together, we literally put our two houses together. Everything that didn't make the cut was sold, given away, or banished to the garage. When we 1st moved in, it was neatly organized. Over the years, anything that we didn't want in the house found its way to the garage. It was a MESS!! I really was at the point I just couldn't take it anymore. I used to park in the garage, but one day I looked up and realized I could no longer park there because it has been taken over by "shit" excuse my language, but seriously, that is basically what it was.

Todd woke up this morning and just started moving, organizing and throwing things away. I was shocked, but HAPPY!!! My husband DOES love me and CARE about my well being. Here are a few pictures of what it manifested into:

Easter Bunny Attempt

I got Taelyn dressed in a super cute purple outfit (from Oma Joyce) so that she could go and meet the Easter Bunny with 3 of her friends. Taelyn was the 1st to meet the Easter Bunny and she took one look at the big white bunny and LOST it. I have never felt her cling to me with such strength. She wouldn't let me go. I tried to put her in his lap and she literally jumped out of his arms. She lunged for me. Poor thing screamed so hard, we couldn't get a good picture. The ONE picture that they did get was blurry because she was in the process of jumping out of his arms towards me. We decided to let Tylia go next to give Taelyn some time to calm down.

Tylia, in pure Tylia fashion sat on his lap, smiled beautifully and was done in 2 seconds. Next was baby Braxdon, he is 9 weeks old and this sweet boy was napping, super easy for the busy bunny. Kailey went last and she didn't cry, but she didn't smile, but at least they got a picture. After all of Taelyn's friends went and received their pictures, we made another attempt.... UNSUCCESSFULLY. I guess since Taelyn is the oldest, she was just not having it. She wanted no part of this Easter tradition. She SCREAMED and cried, so we gave up and left without the traditional picture with the Easter Bunny. I really was sad, but I guess it just was not meant to be.

At least I was able to get these sweet shots BEFORE I traumatized my baby.

Mom2Mom Easter Egg Hunt

Yesterday, Jessica Hekman hosted an Easter Egg Hunt. There were lots of other kids there, lots of treats and lots of EGGS! At this stage, Taelyn doesn't really seem too interested in other kids, she kinda just hangs by herself, and if another kid approaches her, she engages, but she doesn't initiate. I wanted her to try and find eggs with the other kids, but once she found 2, she didn't want to look for any more. She had one in each hand and seemed quite content just watching the other kids look for eggs. Taelyn was occupied with all of her surroundings. She played in the playhouse, with the bikes, other kid's eggs, she had a blast.... Oh, she STILL didn't want anything to do with the grass.

My New Puppy

Other than Todd and I, Taelyn is around Tyson and Tony, our family pets, the most. They are her buddies. She LOVES them and they seem to love her too. The other day, I was getting out of the shower and I heard Tyson and Tony through Taelyn's monitor barking, but what caught my attention was that Taelyn was barking too. She was in her crib BARKING WITH the boys!!! I had to go into her room to see if what I was hearing, is what really was going on. It sure was, she was barking.

Well, the other day takes the cake, I was doing laundry and realized Taelyn was "too quite" I always get nervous when that happens, so as I usually do, I listened for Tyson and Tony because they are ALWAYS with her no matter where she goes. I couldn't hear them, so when I finally found them, ALL 3 of them were in their doggie crate... What am I gonna do with this little girl? She is a MESS!

Trent is 6!!

I blinked and my man turned six years old.  Every year I have had a huge party.  According to Trent, I give all of his friends weapons on hi...
