MAX the FISH

When Todd and I first moved in together, we bought a 50 gallon fish aquarium. I always wanted a huge aquarium for my house, so we got one. This is actually how we ended up with Tony. We went to Petco to buy fish, but they had an adoption going on and I saw Tony the moment we walked in. So we left with fish AND a brother for Tyson. I LOVED coming home from work and sitting in the living room and just watching the fish swim around. It was so relaxing. This was the set up in our old house
When we moved into this house, we just couldn't find a spot to fit our 50 gallon tank. It literally sat in the garage for 4 1/2 years. I was looking at it one day and decided, something MUST be done with this thing. We paid so much money for it and I really and truly loved it. I didn't want to sell it, so I asked my brother if he wanted it. I wasn't going to sell it to anyone, so if they wanted it, it was theirs. After a few weeks of discussing, they decided that they wanted it. Todd put it in his truck and moved it to their house. What a huge ordeal that was. We moved it, probably 5 different areas in their house before we found a fitting spot. Russell asked me why I was so adamant about keeping the aquarium in the family and not selling it? I really didn't know, I just knew that if they didn't want it, we would have kept it. I didn't want anyone else to have it and enjoy it. Then while we were talking, Russell mentioned our aquarium when we were kids and how one big fish at all the others.... That was it! It reminded me of my dad!!! That was why I loved it so much and that was why, when I had my own house I wanted an aquarium and that is why I didn't want to sell it. Now the aquarium is all set up at their house, but they had a small aquarium for their fish Max, so we kind of traded.... Taelyn LOVES Max, she is always looking at him. She likes to feed him. I am so glad everything worked out! Taelyn looking at Max

Taelyn's Hair

Taelyn's hair is getting so long!! I LOVE IT!!! Everyday I am learning new things to do to it. This day, I put it in eight ponytails connected to each other. I put on Yo Gabba Gabba to keep her still. I can't quite get her parts straight and that drives me crazy, but it is still cute despite the crookedness. It is a work in progress, but everyday, it gets better.

My Gym

A few weeks ago, TMOMs had an outing at My Gym. Since it was on a Monday, Todd got to go and see what me and the kids do while he is at work. It was so nice having him there so he could entertain Taelyn and keep a close watch on her while she played on the equipment and I could sit with the other moms who have babies the same age as Trent. They were all doing tummy time on the floor while their older siblings were running around crazy. It was a fun time! Todd pushing Taelyn on the swings

After My Gym, we all went to Chick-Fil-A for lunch. While the kids continued to play in the playground there, we all ate and chatted with each other. When we were done with lunch, we went to visit Russell, Gigi and the kids. We had a fun filled day!

SNAKE!!!

A few weeks ago, I opened the garage, as I do everyday and I saw something slither into a corner... It was a SNAKE! I nearly lost my life! I was holding Trent and Taelyn was walking behind me. I grabbed her and put her back in the house. I left her and Trent inside while I tried to figure out what I was going to do with a snake in my garage... Just as my neighbor, Keith, pulled into his driveway. I solicited his help and I picked the right man!
Boy did I pick the right guy to help! He knew exactly what to do. He grabbed a wire hanger that I had in the garage and cornered the snake.
He picked him up by his tail
Put him in a bucket and walked him over to the field near our houses and set him free. What a guy Keith is. I don't know if anyone else would have done the same. I was trying to think of ways to kill it, like throw some sort of stone at it. I certainly would NOT have picked it up. I was squeamish just taking the pictures of Keith holding it.
This is the picture I put together using Framtastic and Instagram. Thank you Keith for saving my life! It was a serious matter!

Vegas With Kids

Family shot in Caesars Palace

Last month, to celebrate our 4 year anniversary and Taelyn's birthday, we decided to go on a trip to Vegas. Todd brought it to my attention that I never blogged about it or posted any pictures. So here it is!

Todd and I used to go to Vegas all the time, since having kids, he has gone for work purposes and Taelyn and I went with my mom and Richard while I was pregnant with Trent, but we haven't gone together.

We got a comp for free rooms at the Encore/Wynn, so we decided to cash it in.

We brought my niece Maila so that we could have some help.

Todd and I were apprehensive about going to Vegas with kids because Vegas has always been somewhere we would go to have a fun time and the fun we would have, kids were NOT allowed. We LOVE to gamble and have drinks and gamble and go to clubs and gamble and stay up super late gambling... see a trend here?

Todd did some research of things we could do with kids, so we went to the dolphin habitat at the Mirage. Taelyn got a kick out of the dolphins. She kept saying, "FISH" Right idea baby, but wrong! I kept trying to get her to say, "dolphin" but it just is not as easy to say as fish. It was cute.

Water show! Taelyn loved it!

The 1st day was the busiest. We did the Dolphin habitat and walked the strip. We went from the Encore all the way to Bellagio back to the Encore, I don't know how many miles that was, but it seemed forever and walking with sandals on and pushing a stroller, we were VERY happy to get back to the hotel. We had dinner at the hotel, bath time and then put the kids to bed.

Todd and I went downstairs and gambled. We stayed up til about midnight gambling. I decided to cash out because I was winning and I was tired and my boobs were full (TMI, I know, but hey, its the truth!) I cashed out at $580! Back in the day, this would have been chump change, but I would have played until I had no money left, so I guess there is something to having kids to go back to the room to.
Taelyn waking up in the hotel

We went off the strip and met up with a friend for lunch, then we went to Circus Circus for dinner and some game time. We watch the circus show and played games

After Circus Circus, we went back to the hotel and did our nightly routine. Todd and I were going to go out again, but we were so tired, we ended up packing and going to sleep so we could leave 1st thing in the morning.
Oh, look what my man started doing while we were in Vegas

Sitting up, like a big man

All in all, it was a fun trip, but I don't think we will do Vegas with the kids again until they are much older.

Trent is 6!!

I blinked and my man turned six years old.  Every year I have had a huge party.  According to Trent, I give all of his friends weapons on hi...
